Physical Geography Photo Competition 2014

Flooding near the River Ouzel
What physical geography can you spot in your local area? This is a competition for students aged 11-18 organised by the Geographical Association. To enter you must take a photo of the physical geography in your area and submit your shot with a caption describing the photo.

The theme is: ‘physical geography around where I live’. We know that physical geography is all around us wherever we go, but often we don't stop to notice and really look for what can be found in the neighbourhood - so here is the perfect opportunity to go out in your local patch and discover some physical geography near you.

Prizes for national competition will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each age range. Prizes are from the outdoor clothing company Páramo Directional Clothing Systems. Highly commended entries will also receive a Longman Student Atlas from the Geographical Association. Meanwhile there will be a prize of an underwater camera for the best entry in school.

Please see the Geographical Association's entry form for full details and competition rules. The national competition closes on the 31st July 2014, while the school competition closes on the 11th July 2014.

Good luck!
