As part of their work on the Fantastic Places topic students in Year 7 have researched their own choice of landscape. For homework the students made models of their chosen landscapes and prepared a talk about the landscape for their classmates. A selection of their finished models can be seen below.

Fancy a job here? This short film gives an insight into life at Halley VI in Antarctica, the recently opened British Antarctic Survey Research Station, situated on the Brunt Ice Shelf at 76° South.

For the climax of their work on the Fantastic Places topic students in Year 7 and 8 researched their own choice of landscape. Over half term the students made models of their chosen landscapes in shoe boxes.
 

As part of their assessment for this topic the students each gave a talk about their landscape and answered questions from their peers. A selection of their finished models can be seen below.

Fantastic Comic Strips

In Geography this week students in Year 7 and 8 created comic strips to show the life cycle of a sea stack. The students used modeling clay to make the physical features and the Strip Designer iPad app to put together their comics. Here are some examples of their finished work...
