What's holding Malawi back?

Here is a display of work done by Year 10 students as a review of the Malawi case study which they have studied as part of their learning about the Development Dynamics topic on the new Edexcel B 2016 specification. Using their subject knowledge they had to identify as many links as possible between the various images, maps, diagrams and key terms they were given relating to the case study.

Funny Migration Cartoon

Last term GCSE students studied population and migration. As part of their learning about the topic we looked at satirical cartoons and they then had a go at creating their own piece of satire based on a news article about immigration. One student used a web app to create this short animated film.

Mind the Gap!

Here is a display of some of the work done by Year 8 and 9 students in Geography last term. There is a variety of work on the display relating to world development including a concept map, infographic, reports and digital maps.

The Geopolitics of Energy

]This new display in the Geography room showcases concept maps created by Year 12 students about the geopolitics of energy supply and demand. The students were challenged to find as many links as possible between the places and case studies they studied when we covered this topic before half term.

Coltan: Congo's Curse?

Year 9 have been studying the coltan trade and the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Here is some of their work from this week on display in the classroom.
