Out and About in Abergavenny

Here are a few photos from our first day's fieldwork in Wales.


We walked into Abergavenny town centre shortly after lunch and the students carried out an investigation to find out about:

• The town's sphere of influence
• The importance and appeal of the shopping area
• How the high street has changed
• Traffic around the town
• Environmental quality in different areas

In the evening class the students collated their results and each group was responsible for analysing and presenting the results of one of the surveys to the rest of the class. The groups also had to create a poster showing what they found out to display back at school.


We're looking forward to our visit to Afon Caerfanell today and are hoping we won't be caught in any more torrential downpours!
