After potato waffles and sausages for breakfast the students packed and this was followed with a successful round of room inspections!
Our first stop of the day was Blaenavon Ironworks where we explored the blast furnaces, water tower and workers cottages. The workers cottages were the setting of the BBC television series,
Coal House.
After this we had a look around Blaenavon town and then onto the
World Heritage Centre where the students explored the areas history on the centre's interactive displays. Next we headed up to
Big Pit where we had a brilliant tour of the mine workings and learnt about the area's mining heritage.
